Welcome From the Pastor…

If you’re reading these words, then something brought you here to this point where you’re saying to yourself  “Could this place be a good fit for me? Who is the pastor and what is he all about?”. Well, let me speak from the heart about my experience here. I believe you deserve that. We are all on different journeys, these journeys are our life stories.  Living Hope Community Church is a place where God meets you in the midst of your story.

Let me tell you that I have traveled far and wide, but no place is like this place. I love this church because this is a place where people encounter God.  I have personally witnessed God intervene in the lives of families.  I have stood speechless as I witness people encountering the goodness of God.  I have seen God do miracles and I have seen Him bring food to those in need. God is good! He is here to meet you in the middle of your life story.

At Living Hope Community Church, we are real people with real stories who face real challenges. The good news is God will take what we bring (even the ugly stuff) and will turn it into a catalyst for His glory and for transformative good in your life. He addresses the mess in our lives and re-envisions something beautiful and good out of the mess. He exchanges beauty for ashes by the power of His Word.

I don’t know about you, but I love a good story. I’m talking about the type of story that has a hero fighting against all odds to attain what matters most. It is the type of story that has deep valleys where all hope seems lost. It is the story that has mountaintops full of triumph that seemed impossible from the depths of those dark valleys. You know the type of story that I’m talking about because it’s the type of story that reverberates in your soul, shakes your foundations, wakes up your senses, and sends shivers down your spine. It’s the type of story that awakens things inside of you that you didn’t even know were there. The stories we live and the stories we hear about that have that kind of effect on us are stories that speak the truth of the power of God.

Redemption stories speak loudly about the Grace of God. I believe that although we are all living out different stories with different paths, all stories find their fullest meaning and expression when seen as stories in relation to the Word of God. I have seen people hit rock bottom and they relate to Joseph in the bible and wonder how God will get them out of their time behind bars. I have seen people seek wisdom from the book of Proverbs on how to raise their children. There are people looking for financial freedom from their many debts and they see themselves in the words of Malachi reminding people to put their faith in God and He will abundantly bless them by opening up the storehouses of heaven.

I know that on any given Sunday, we come with the heavy baggage of life. However, its here that we are reminded of the words Jesus spoke when he said, “Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest”. I believe that at Living Hope Community Church, God meets us in the middle of our story and begins to transform us from the inside out. He has the power to restore what was once broken, turn despair into faith. At Living Hope God works by using  His Word to help us rewrite our stories into ones of hope, redemption and victory.

My hope is that you find your place here at Living Hope. My hope is that you see yourself belonging here; finding God here, growing your faith here, and finding friends you can fellowship with along the way. I believe we are here to see God’s love work in our lives and to be agents of that same love. We are here as a fire shining in the darkness, The light of Jesus shines in our lives and through our lives. We want the light of Christ to spread.

I want to encourage you that if you’re reading this, you consider staying here for a few months and allowing us the opportunity to be a part of your story. I hope this letter finds you well and we can get to know each other better in the future. My family and I would love to have dinner with your family and have the chance to swap stories.

My hope is that this is not just a place people call  “church”, but rather a place that feels like home and the people here feel like family.

Sincerely,

Pastor Rod Galindo

P.S. Hope to meet you soon!
